Science for Children Gallery

This gallery takes the children as well as adults to the world of perception. We perceive things around us using five sensory organs – Eyes, Ears, Nose, Tongue and Skin. A new born child first explores the surroundings through the sense of touch. A number of exhibits, for example, Identify Surface, Hard & Soft, Smooth & Rough, Hot & Cold explain the concept of touch. A brain model showing the detection of various senses in an interactive manner and some sense-sational facts about them can be explored in this gallery. A grown up child likes to observe and do things with his/her own hands, which is there in Tessellation, Soap Bubbles, Shadows, 2D to 3D, Shapes and Polygons in nature, Colours, Underwater life etc. Mixing and subtracting colour lights to obtain secondary colours give children knowledge of colourful world. Other excitements are Float in Air, Head on a Platter and Kaleidoscope, Multiple reflections, Night vision camera. Also you cannot stay without laughing in front of laughing mirrors. A diorama on food, which describes the parts of plants from where we get food like root, stem or leaves etc. This interactive diorama is worth to watch specially for kids in this city of concrete jungle.
