Sound and Hearing Gallery

The Sound & Hearing gallery tells the story of sound & how our brain perceives a range of sound frequencies through our ear mechanism and auditory nerves. This hall will take you to the world of vibrations, as sound is nothing but vibrations. The exhibits explain how do we hear, how the sound waves propagate and how the sound is produced and amplified alongwith the principles on which musical instruments work. You also get an opportunity to walk on a piano where you can make music with dance, to observe the Doppler Effect and many more interesting phenomenon on sound, in an interactive way through exhibits and computer kiosks. You can test your hearing range, create music with wooden planks, metal strips etc. You can also learn about acoustic systems, reverberation, giant wave propagation etc. in this hall.
